The US men's and women’s teams returned from Rio with glory, tickets to the 2026 World Championship and a medal haul of 11.

6 of these medals came on the final day of competition at the Pan American Championship. Claire Pease capped her dominant run with two more medals Sunday. The senior already clinched all-around gold on June 19 and added floor gold and vault bronze in apparatus finals.

Simone Rose didn’t fall far behind. The 17-year-old  also won two silvers on balance beam and uneven bar, adding to Charleigh Bullock’s all-around silver. The US women’s team already had a gold medal under their belt.

The US men's Yul Moldauer swept gold from the parallel bars, and Patrick Hoopes championed in the pommel horse. Moldauer also extended the haul with an all-around bronze, adding to the team’s earlier bronze.

Both senior teams locked in their spots for the 2026 Worlds, set for 17-25 October in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with these performances. This meet at Rio also served as the qualifier for the 2027 Pan Am Games.

However, the senior teams weren’t the only victorious ones, as the Junior men’s and women’s teams matched the pace with ease.

Junior Teams Matched Senior Success

The junior women's team claimed eight of the 13 apparatus medals on Saturday, showcasing depth in the young squad. Addalye VanGrinsven stole the spotlight by claiming two silvers on vault and balance beams, and two bronzes on uneven bars and floors.

To the existing team gold, Amia Pugh-Banks added three more (all-around, vault, floor). Vivi Crain and Sydney Williams added two more golds from the balance beam and uneven bars, respectively. Crain also took home an all-around silver.

The junior men’s squad earned a team gold earlier. Maksim Kan elongated the list with two silvers (Pommel horse, still rings), Hunter Simpson and Ori Reilly with one silver each, on parallel bars and horizontal bar, respectively. Reilly added a parallel bars bronze.

With this, the U.S. won 61 medals across all Pan Am competition this season, reflecting a strong start towards October’s competition in Rotterdam.
