On Tuesday, May 5, Georgia gymnastics confirmed the signing of its newest assistant coach, Brenna Brooks. She will be working under the new sole head coach, Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, who is building her staff for the upcoming season.

In her first comments after becoming the assistant coach at the Georgia GymDogs, Brooks said, “I am very excited to join the coaching staff at Georgia gymnastics. I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm, technical coaching, personalized choreography, and sincere dedication to enhancing the student-athlete experience.”

“I have great respect for Cecile's vision for the program, along with the rich history Georgia gymnastics has developed, and I am eager to help foster a culture that balances championship expectations and passion for the sport," she added.

Canqueteau-Landi is happy to have Brooks on her staff and gave her the flowers for her collegiate career. She remarked, “I'm excited to welcome Brenna to our staff."

"I've known her since her days training and competing in Texas, and it's been incredible to watch her grow into a driven young woman with big dreams and goals. I'm looking forward to the impact she'll have and all the great things she'll bring to our program," she added.

Before joining Georgia as the assistant coach, Brooks fulfilled the same role at the Iowa Hawkeyes for two seasons. She played a key part in helping Iowa score consecutive top-25 finishes in 2025 and 2026.

The Allen, Texas native began her coaching career as an assistant at the Washington Huskies. In the 2024 season, she worked specifically with the balance beam squad, which maintained a top-20 national ranking for all but one week of the season.

Brenna Brooks' student-athlete career at the Washington Huskies

Brenna Brooks began her collegiate gymnastics career with the Washington Huskies in 2019. She became a five-year student-athlete in Seattle after missing competition during her junior year because of injury.

In her fifth year of competition, during the 2023 season, Brooks recorded her career-high score of 9.850 on five separate occasions. She was also named in the Pac-12 Gymnastics Preseason Watch List. That same season, she posted a career-high 9.950 on the balance beam.

She earned her career-high 9.875 score on bars in 2022 after returning from injury.

Brooks recorded her career-high score of 9.850 on the floor exercise twice, with the first coming as early as 2019, while her all-around career-high of 38.750 came during the 2020 season. She was also a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection from 2020 to 2022 while competing for the Huskies.

Her bachelor’s degree, earned at the University of Washington, was in early childhood and family studies.
