Two-time Olympian Brody Malone is among the top American artistic gymnasts for men in the last decade. In his last major elite appearance, at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, Malone won the gold medal on horizontal bar, or high bar, with a score of 14.933.

He secured the top spot ahead of Olympic champion Hashimoto Daiki and third-place finisher Joe Fraser during October last year. This was the second world title victory for him in the event, a full-circle moment after he had done it for the first time in Liverpool, England, in 2022.

But Malone, who trains at EVO Gymnastics, wasn’t alone in winning a world title last year, with his colleague Donnell Whittenburg doing the same on rings.

In the April issue of Inside Gymnastics magazine of 2026, Malone reflected on the shared success of EVO Gymnastics and said,

“It feels amazing definitely a full circle moment. There were two of us that won gold, so now we get to go back to the same gym with two world gold medals.”

Overall, it was the third medal on the horizontal bar for him at the World Championships, including the bronze in Kitakyushu, Japan, nearly five years ago. Malone also discussed his time spent at EVO Gymnastics in Sarasota, Florida, over the years.

“Being at EVO has been an amazing experience. The team atmosphere and culture is absolutely world class,” Malone said. “It is so much easier and more beneficial to train at a high level when you are surrounded by people with the same goals as you,” he added.

Brody Malone spoke at Berry College as a guest lecturer earlier this year

Brody Malone returned to his hometown of Rockmart, Georgia, on Tuesday, March 3, to speak as a guest lecturer at Berry College for their Cecil B. Wright III Integrity in Leadership Lecture Series.

His lecture, called “More Than a Medal: Character, Calling, and a Life of Purpose,” was all about how leadership and perseverance are vital during competition and beyond.

Berry College’s statement on Malone’s career was about how he established himself as a standout in his sport through extraordinary talent, perseverance, and leadership on and off the competition floor.

Moreover, apart from being a world champion on two occasions, the 33-year-old also made history during his second appearance at the Olympic Games. During the Paris 2024 Olympics, he was part of the US men’s team that secured a bronze medal, their first team medal at the quadrennial games in 16 years.

Before joining EVO Gymnastics, Malone trained at the Cartersville Gymnastics center with the Cartersville Twisters.
