Simon Rose's journey from getting signed with the Florida Gators in November to securing a spot on Team USA's upcoming championship is nothing short of spectacular. This will be a much-anticipated meet before she makes her debut at the O'Dome.

The incoming freshman will represent the United States in the Senior Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, scheduled from June 17-21. Rose was locked for the championship on Saturday evening in the U.S. National Team camp in Crossville, Tennessee.

Despite the fact that the selection camp included the country's top elite gymnast, which created a high-pressure environment, Rose made it into the roster.

Rose will join the official Team USA, which includes Charleigh Bullock, Claire Pease, Lila Richardson, and Olympic veteran Hezly Rivera, with Alessia Rosa selected as the travelling replacement athlete.

This unit will look to continue the legacy of American dominance at the championship. The selection camp had some familiar faces for Gator fans, including high-profile athletes who had strong Florida ties and had participated in the training session. Among all the attendees, not everyone was actively seeking a spot in the Pan American roster.

A few of the athletes, including Dulcy Caylor, Skye Blakely, Jayla Hang, and Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Leanne Wong, were there over the weekend to sharpen their skills.

With the Pan American Championship scheduled for next month, which includes a mix of veterans and rising stars in the roster, Rose has a chance to end her club career in a perfect way before she heads as a freshman in Florida.

Simone Rose: The Newest Florida Gator

The 17-year-old Simone Rose belongs to Sammamish, Washington. At the Pacific Reign Gymnastics, Rose got trained, building her precision on the uneven bars and balance beam under the guidance of coach Cale Robinson.

The upcoming Senior Pan American Championships will mark the second major international assignment for Rose in the United States in 2026 alone. Earlier this spring, she helped Team USA claim gold at the Jesolo Trophy in Italy and bronze in the individual category for balance beam. Rose finished fourth in the all-around and placed fifth on the floor exercise.

At the 2025 Jesolo Trophy, Rose gave a stellar performance on uneven bars and won the title and placed fourth in all-around. In the previous year, she captured gold for the team and won the individual title on bars and floor exercise at the Pacific Rim Championships in Cali.

With a handful of international medals already to her name, Rose is easily one of the most exciting elite prospects in the country right now. This trip to Brazil gives her one last major stage to compete on before she officially heads out to Gainesville to join the Gators.

So, after making her spot in the Team USA roster, do you think Rose will bring more pride to the country by securing accolades?
