Olympian Jordan Chiles may already be one of the most decorated gymnasts, but she is not finished.
Chiles was part of the U.S. Olympic team that clinched gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With this win, she became one of four female gymnasts to win NCAA, world, and Olympic championship titles. She has also combined her collegiate career with media appearances and partnerships.
Talking about her achievements on and off the mat, Chiles acknowledged both the scale and rapidity of her success.
“It’s pretty crazy that I’ve done so much in the time span of me only being 25 years old,” Chiles told NBC News. “I’m very proud of myself, but I know I have a lot more to do.”
The four-time NCAA champion is balancing training at UCLA, where she will graduate with a degree in African American studies. She has also dived into entertainment, finishing third on Dancing with the Stars.
However, despite her various engagements, Chiles hasn't denied a possible appearance at the 2028 Olympics.
“I think about it all the time,” she said of LA 2028. “It’s really more about physically for me than it is mentally. So we’ll see what happens.”
Chiles' ambitions go beyond personal endeavors. She has expanded her platform through the Shero Athlete Collective, which aims to mentor and empower girls in sports and beyond.
“I would love to leave a legacy like Beyoncé or Whitney Houston,” Chiles told NBC News. “But I want to leave a legacy outside of my sport.”
One of Time's Women of the Year for 2025, her flair and Beyoncé-inspired routines have helped redefine traditional perceptions of gymnastics and connect with a younger audience.
As for gymnastic success, Chiles isn't the only one flirting with the 2028 Olympics.
Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles tease LA 2028
Similar to Chiles, Simone Biles has not ruled out a return to the Olympics and could appear in some capacity.
The latter has also been noncommittal about whether she will compete in Los Angeles. Unlike Chiles, Biles has cited her mental health as the determining factor.
“Mental health plays a big role in it,” she told Amanda Davies on CNN Sports. "Because, physically, my coaches will get me in shape."
With little over two years left, both Chiles and Biles have a decision to make. Having already won plenty with Team USA, it remains to be seen if they will add more to their trophy haul.
