After a long list of Olympic and NCAA accolades, gymnastics star Jordan Chiles has a new reason to celebrate, as she’ll soon head to Los Angeles.
The fresh UCLA graduate has received her first BET nomination, for the Sportswoman of the Year category. And joining basketball phenom A’Ja Wilson, tennis star Naomi Osaka and elite sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson, Chiles would call it a “dream come true.”
“To know that I'm nominated with remarkable women such as A'ja Wilson, Sha'Carri Richardson, Naomi Osaka and all of them, I'm just like, ‘This is crazy,’” she told People magazine in an exclusive interview published on June 23, 2026. “They've done so much within their careers…”

This nomination recognizes Chiles' impact beyond gymnastics, including her being one of TIME's Women of the Year, endorsements, and cultural reach. And deep down, she knew she was destined for these.
“I always told myself. Watching the BET Awards, any award show, I'm going to win one of those awards one day,” she told People magazine further. “This is something that I feel is a little bigger because there are more people who are involved…”
But as she’ll head to LA’s Peacock theatre on June 28 for the award ceremony, one of Chiles’ revelations highlighted that her next BET nomination might be for a different category.
Jordan Chiles Eyes Hollywood Role
Surely Chiles would address gymnasts as superheroes, but her love runs deeper. With Spider-Man being her favorite, the gymnast now wants to step into that world herself.
“I do want to act. I want to go into the acting world,” she revealed to People during the same sitting. “I love Marvel and just superheroes themselves. I still think I'm a superhero because the things that we do in gymnastics don't make sense. But hey, it's what we do.”
The former UCLA star was a Dancing with the Stars finalist in 2025 and has been part of multiple endorsement ads and campaigns. So, showing off her creativity on a bigger screen shouldn’t be hard after all.
