After Olympic podiums and a 4-year tenure at UCLA, gymnastics star Jordan Chiles finally made it to her much-needed relaxation trip at Cancun, Mexico.
“Vacation mode: fully activated,” her Instagram caption read on June 26, 2026. “Had the most incredible stay at AVA Resort Cancun! Between the amazing food, kayaking adventures, afternoons spent lounging in poolside cabanas, and the dreamiest spa treatment, every day was better than the last… Until next time, Cancun.”
Like most elite gymnasts, Chiles had not taken a single vacation since turning pro. The kind of heavy training sessions required to be a 2x Olympic and 3x Worlds championship medalist, while constantly posting perfect 10s at the NCAA level, simply couldn't have allowed it.
But who could deny the need? After capping her Bruins’ career with an NCAA floor exercise title in May 2026, the 25-year-old could finally take a breather. In a recent exclusive interview with People Magazine, she excitedly talked about her vacation plans.
“I do have a few vacations planned. And I haven't gone on vacation literally since I started my sport,” she revealed (published on June 23, 2026). “So, finally having relaxation is definitely something I'm very, very happy about.”
But the break is short-lived. With another new achievement in her resume, Chiles' calendar is filling fast.
From Cancun to BET: Jordan Chiles' Next Chapter
With her first BET nomination for Sportswoman of the Year, Chiles has now officially joined the elite company of basketball phenom A’Ja Wilson, tennis icon Naomi Osaka and elite track sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson. And she called it a “dream come true” moment.
“To know that I'm nominated with remarkable women. Such as A'ja Wilson, Sha'Carri Richardson, Naomi Osaka and all of them, I'm just like, ‘This is crazy,’” she told People magazine in the same interview. They've done so much within their careers… “
This nomination reflects Chiles’ impact and inspirational contribution to her sport, something bigger than medal counts and records. So, her next stop is set to be LA’s Peacock theatre, the red carpets of BET, on June 28.
