Behind the routines and scores, there’s a schedule that keeps going nonstop. For Jordan Chiles, the real challenge right now isn’t just performance, it’s staying mentally in control while handling everything around her. And she finally revealed what really helps her handle it.

While juggling gymnastics, public appearances, and her time on the Dancing with the Stars tour, Jordan Chiles, in an April 29, 2026, interview with People Magazine, shared that she manages it by keeping “two different realities”, one as an athlete and one outside it.

She added, "Life goes on, but you're still always an athlete, and you still always have to balance a lot of things."

A two-time Olympian, Jordan Chiles was part of Team USA’s silver medal team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and later returned as a key contributor on the international stage. She’s also delivered consistent high scores for the UCLA Bruins gymnastics across events. That balance doesn’t come naturally; it’s something Jordan Chiles actively builds.

“ The biggest thing that I really choose to do is obviously lean on my supporters as best as I can, but [I] also understand that there are other things that can fuel me,” she said.

After the ups and downs following the Tokyo Olympics, she’s now focusing on her mental health and aiming for “peace” this year. That mindset also shows in how she handles everything around her, using a few simple habits that help her stay calm and focused.

What keeps Jordan Chiles calm and focused

When she's in her gymnastics world, Jordan Chiles locks into her competition routine with music.

“My biggest thing that I always do when I'm getting ready for a competition is probably just listening to music and kind of letting my body relax as best as possible,” she said, adding that she also FaceTimes people as she gets ready.

She added, “I always like to just cool down as best as possible. But I'm the type of person [that] I can't lock in too much, or I start overthinking.”

To keep her energy right, she leans on music and team vibes. Chiles often plays hype tracks like “anything Beyonce, anything Megan Thee Stallion.”

Outside of the competition, she also focuses on balance through Pure Leaf Mental Focus. She said it helps her stay aligned mentally while managing a busy schedule.

“When it does come to my mental health, I typically go into different directions of what I can do, whether it's, you know, being productive in a different mindset or allowing myself to indulge in who I am as a person,” she said.

From here, the question is simple: can she keep this balance as things get even busier? And will this focus on peace help her manage what comes next?
