After its 2026 national runner-up finish, LSU has secured another elite talent to join the powerful program for the 2027 season. This follows the addition of Skyelar Kerico.

LSU head coach Jay Clark announced the addition of a second transfer this summer, Ariel Posen, who will join the Tigers’ roster for 2027. Posen has officially traded her red and black for purple and gold.

The Manalapan, New Jersey, native, Posen will head to Baton Rouge to utilize her final season of eligibility. She brings her experience in the Southeastern Conference after spending most of her time at the University of Georgia.

As she transfers to the LSU squad, she will add depth on both the balance beam and uneven bars, ensuring she plays a key role in reloading their roster for next season.

Reflecting on her decision, Posen said, “I chose LSU for my comeback to gymnastics because the entire program combines an unbelievable team culture with strong coaching, state-of-the-art facilities and a campus environment that inspired me as soon as I walked on to it.”

At Georgia, Posen was a part of the nation's premier program, which helped her gain invaluable experience competing on big stages in collegiate gymnastics. Although she retired medically in 2023, today she is looking forward to making a return to the competition floor with the Tigers.

Before her collegiate journey, Posen was a five-star recruit on College Gym News who trained at Arena Gymnastics. Her pre-college career includes being a 10-time State Champion, an eight-time Regional Champion, and a Junior Olympic Floor Champion.

LSU will head into their next season after successfully finishing the 2026 season as runner-up. Posen’s arrival at the Tigers as the second transfer will add a milestone to their strategy for the 2027 season ahead.

Before Posen, LSU Added Skyelar Kerico to Its 2027 Roster

Just prior to the signing of Ariel Posen, Skyelar Kerico, the 2025 GEC Gymnast of the Year, joined LSU as their first transfer for the 2027 roster on May 8. She joined the program for her final year of eligibility after her standout career at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kerico stated her reason to choose LSU, saying, “When I stepped onto campus I knew that I was home. LSU is a place where the coaches, staff, and gymnasts are family, all working towards a goal bigger than ourselves.”

She had emerged as a premier all-arounder, earning GEC Gymnast of the Year twice and securing five individual GEC Championships at Pennsylvania. She concluded her tenure there by becoming a First-Team All-GEC and All-Ivy member.

Her record at Penn includes a 9.925 on vault and a 39.450 in the all-around. Her career high was 9.950 on bars and 9.925 on beam. Her scores solidify her status as a high-caliber gymnast in all events. She is a role model for consistency who has excelled across all events, earning the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year honor.
