Olivia Dunne had a fun moment at PNC Park on Thursday night. She was watching her boyfriend Paul Skenes pitch against the Chicago Cubs. And she noticed something special at the plate.

Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman was stepping up to face Skenes on the mound. Both players are former LSU Tigers. Dunne could not let that go unnoticed.

She snapped a photo of the exact moment and shared it on her Instagram story. Her caption was simple and playful. "LSU vs LSU," she wrote.

Dunne herself is part of that LSU family. She is a former gymnast and an NCAA champion with the Tigers. So the connection meant something to her.

The game itself did not go Pittsburgh's way. The Cubs won 7-2 in the series finale and split the four-game set 2-2. But Skenes was excellent on the mound.

The 2025 NL Cy Young winner pitched 5.1 innings. He allowed just one earned run on four hits and struck out 10 batters. Seven of those strikeouts came in the first eight hitters he faced.

Sadly, the bullpen and defense let him down. Chicago took advantage of errors and scored steadily in the late innings. Skenes was left without much support.

His season has been a bit up and down. The 23-year-old holds a 6-5 record over 12 games. He has a 2.89 ERA, 75 strikeouts, and a 0.89 WHIP, which leads the league.

Still, he trails in ERA and strikeouts compared to past years. That makes a second straight Cy Young Award unlikely. Skenes will look to bounce back next Wednesday against the Houston Astros.

Dunne is a Regular at Paul Skenes Games

Olivia Dunne is often in the stands when Skenes pitches. And she has admitted she gets pretty superstitious about it. Earlier this month, she opened up about her game-day rituals.

She appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on May 13. Fallon asked if she gets nervous at his games. Her answer was hilarious.

"I usually wear an Oura Ring, and it tells me I'm going to explore and die every time I watch him," Dunne joked. She was clearly only half-kidding about the stress of it all.

Then she got into her actual ritual. "I'm a little superstitious," she said. "So I have to scream before every single pitch at the top of my lungs, 'Let's go, Paul!'"

Fallon could not help but tease her about it. "So if you go to a game, you don't want to sit in front of you," he said. Dunne laughed and shot right back, "I mean, unless you want to cheer with me."

It is a small look into life as Skenes' biggest fan. She shows up, she screams, and she stays loyal. Even when the Pirates lose, she is there for him.
