Paul Skenes lasted five innings against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, giving up nine hits in a 5-2 Pirates loss. It was an off day for the reigning National League Cy Young winner, and every rough moment of it was felt, visibly, by his girlfriend Olivia Dunne, sitting in the stands watching him.

Olivia Dunne was caught on the Sportsnet broadcast yelling, taking photos, and muttering profane language throughout the game.

The moment that went viral came in the first inning. George Springer hit a leadoff home run 398 feet into left field to give Toronto an early lead. And the camera found Dunne in the stands using profane language twice before leaning back in her seat in frustration.

The Sportsnet commentators didn't miss a beat of the event.

"She is not just sitting around and looking around. She is into the game, emotional and occasionally profane. But she is invested in the successes and rare failures of her Cy Young award-winning boyfriend, Paul Skenes," the commentators said.

The reaction split exactly the way these moments always do. The viral footage sparked a polarized debate, with fans split between finding her passion relatable or unprofessional.

Fans' reactions to Olivia Dunne’s viral clip

A few fans leaned into the humor side of the reactions and did not hold back. One fan went straight for the result, "Came all this way just to watch her man lose."

Another fan turned it into a baseball joke, referring to New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman. "She's on the phone with Brian Cashman," the comment read.

For context, the Yankees have been rumored to covet Skenes if he ever became available via trade or free agency.

A third reached the wrestling world. The fan referred to Donovan Danhausen, who “curses” opponents by pointing at them and gesturing dramatically.

"Livvy Dunne with the @DanhausenAD curse to her b/f Paul Skenes."

Watching her on the phone multiple times, another fan kept it plain and practical. "What else she gonna do — make a TikTok l***."

But some fans could not find the fun side of it. Their reactions were more pointed as one fan drew a sharp line, writing, "She has a p**** mouth. Very unbecoming of a classy young woman."

The couple has been dating since 2023. And, this was not the first time Dunne's reaction at a Baseball game went viral. In August 2023, during Skenes’ rookie season, Dunne was spotted at PNC Park cheering him on, which got attention.

Then in 2024, clips of her supporting Skenes circulated widely, with fans saying that she was the Pirates’ “good luck charm.”
