As Joscelyn Roberson’s run with the Arkansas Razorbacks came to an end, her recent revelation highlighted why Georgia was the best-suited as her next destination.
Wrapping up her two seasons with the Razorbacks, this Thursday, the Olympian announced her move to the Bulldogs. And the reason behind this move was basically Georgia ticking off all of her requirements.
“The reason I chose Georgia is because I felt like it was a good mix of all of the schools,” she explained to Gymnastics Now's Patricia Duffy. “I had the relationships, the coaching I wanted. I had the academics… I felt like, ‘Okay, this is where I’m meant to be.'”

Arkansas was the place where Roberson clinched 2 postseason All-America honors, set several individual records and earned multiple All-SEC accolades. However, it was Georgia where she “felt more comfortable.”
She’ll now fulfill her remaining two years of NCAA eligibility under head coach Cécile Canqueteau-Landi and associate head coach Laurent Landi. And this will be a reunion, given that they were her club coaches at the World Champions Centre before.
Her time at Georgia has only begun. However, 2026 will not be the year when Roberson will get into action with the Bulldogs.
Joscelyn Roberson Will Not Compete Elite This Season
The former Arkansas star mentioned clearly that her goal is to win a national championship and move to the Olympics. However, she will not partake in the elite program this year and focus on her health instead.
“The goal is to train elite this year, but not to compete because I really want to get healthy,” she explained. “One, because my ankles were an issue last year… I’ll train elite, I just won’t compete in it. And then I’ll go into the NCAA season.”
So, it is only a minute respite before she hits the Olympic floor. For now, Roberson will take her time to get accustomed to the Bulldogs and prepare herself for what’s coming next.
Moving forward, how do you think Roberson complements the Bulldogs’ roster? Let us know in the comments.
