The 25-time All-American Star, Selena Harris-Miranda, has posted a heartfelt note, having called time on her career. In the note, the Florida Gators gymnast acknowledged how gymnastics helped her to create a legacy while revealing her plans for the next chapter.

Reflecting on the journey, Selena wrote in an Instagram post that gymnastics was her escape, playground, and peace. She credited her gymnastics community in Florida for helping shape her character.

"Transferring ended up being the biggest blessing," Selena wrote. "It gave me the chance to choose a place that truly felt like me and from the moment I got to the University of Florida, I knew I was where I was meant to be."

Ranked as the top recruit in the 2022 class, Selena made an immediate impact as an all-around contributor at UCLA. After ranking fifth nationally in the regular season and finishing third on beam at nationals, she transferred to Florida in May 2024 with two seasons remaining.

The university provided her with the environment that pushed her to develop in ways she had always dreamed of.

To her, gymnastics has been more than just a sport. She acknowledges how initially her family did not realise the impact it created on her. She honours her community at Gymcats, which gave her the support needed to grow into who she is today.

As she moves into the next chapter of her life, she looks forward to a future with a purpose.

"I hope to one day own a gym or be a head coach of a college, but mainly I want to pour into the next generation of athletes the same way this sport poured into me mentally, physically, and spiritually," wrote Selena.

While Selena brings her gymnastics career to a close, she leaves behind a lasting legacy in collegiate gymnastics.

Selena was a collegiate legend, earning 25 All-American titles, including 10 NCAA and 15 WCGA. Her journey from Gymcast to Florida Gator reflects her technical precision in all her performances.

She has finished her career with four perfect 10s. Besides, Selena is honoured with the WCGA Region 5 Gymnast of the Year in her final season, 2026.

Florida proved to be where the now 22-year-old truly blossomed, despite never securing an NCAA championship. Even so, she collected a long list of Pac-12 and SEC honors, earning multiple titles on vault, bars, and in the all-around.

She wrapped up her career as the 2026 WCGA Region 5 Gymnast of the Year.

Selena made her final collegiate appearance at the 2026 NCAA Gymnastics Championships on April 18, 2026. There she posted a stellar 9.950 on uneven bars and a 9.9375 on balance beam to close out her career.

As she prepares herself for the graduation in August, she is excited about her future endeavours.
