American artistic gymnast Joscelyn Roberson is officially a Georgia Bulldog. She announced her decision to enter the transfer portal in April and has since found a place in Georgia. The announcement sparked immediate reactions from the sport's biggest stars, including the likes of Simone Biles.

Roberson will be rejoining her 2024 Paris Olympics coach, Cécile Canqueteau-Landi, who serves as the head coach of the Bulldogs’ gymnastics team. The 20-year-old gymnast celebrated her transfer with an Instagram post on May 22, with a caption about how excited she is to be part of Georgia.

“SO SO excited to announce I will be continuing my education and gymnastics career at the University of Georgia for the remainder of my eligibility!! This entire process has been an absolute whirlwind in the best way possible!”

HC Canqueteau-Landi was as excited to have Roberson back training under her as the gymnast herself. She believes that Roberson brings qualities that will help the team prosper, per a May 21 report.

"Joscelyn brings so much talent, leadership, and positivity to a team. Being reunited with her means a lot, and I'm excited to work together again to help her and the Georgia GymDogs continue reaching new heights."

The World Championships gold medalist matched her new HC’s energy. Her Instagram post shows her wrapped in the Bulldogs flag, and even doing a split with a sign spelling out Georgia. She amplified her enthusiasm with the end of her caption.

“The minute I stepped on campus at UGA it just felt like home. I know it’s cliche but the relaxing comfort and happiness I felt while I was there was unlike anything else!!”

Well-known names in the gymnastics world stepped in to shower congratulations on her transfer.

Simone Biles Joins Joscelyn Roberson Hype Train

While Roberson is clearly excited about her move to Georgia, she is not the only one. Top names in gymnastics quickly celebrated the news.

Seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was overjoyed at the transfer, and she expressed the same in a comment.

“the gang is back together again”

Biles is referring to the reunion between Roberson and Cécile Canqueteau-Landi, as all three were a part of the 2024 Paris Olympic contingent.

Four-time National Team member, Trinity Thomas, also commented on the post, congratulating the gymnast.

“Congratulations”

Roberson’s 2023 and 2024 U.S. Women’s National Gymnastics teammate Jordan Chiles also dropped a comment in support of her former teammate.

“Congrats!!!”

Even her former Arkansas teammates expressed their appreciation for the four-time Pan American Championship medalist.

One such ex-teammate was Emma Kelley, who commented a sweet message for Roberson.

“I'm so happy for you”

Reese Esponda was elated for Roberson as well. Currently a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team for 2026, she also dropped a comment in support of the gymnast.

“AWWW SO HAPPY FOR YOU”

Roberson's former teammates seem to be in support of her decision to switch teams. But what do you think about her transfer?
