American gymnast Simone Biles has established herself as one of the biggest names in the sport during her illustrious career, winning a combined 41 medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships.

Simone Biles honored her mother and mother-in-law this Sunday with a series of social media tributes and a family brunch. The Olympic icon shared six Instagram updates showcasing the private celebration and a special restaurant menu for Mother’s Day.

Biles celebrated her mother and mother-in-law with heartfelt messages on social media for everyone to see. The 29-year-old also hosted a special brunch in a touching family tribute to remind everyone about the value of every relationship in life.

The first story had a picture of her standing alongside her father, Ronald, and mother, Nellie, and it was captioned “HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM 💕💕."

She followed it up by sharing three pictures in the next three Instagram stories. Two of those pictures had Biles standing beside her mother, with the first one also consisting of three white heart emojis.

Meanwhile, she called her mother a “QUEEN” in the other picture shared between the aforementioned two pictures. Also, it had her mother holding up the menu of her restaurant, which had “WELCOME TO F******* MAPLE & ASH NELLIE” written on it.

The next picture was a picture of her mother-in-law, Arthurine Cannon, sitting beside the table with food served to her already, and it was captioned, “Happy Mother's Day to my mother-in-lawwwww 💛."

In the sixth and final Instagram story, Biles gave a bird’s-eye view of the various dishes on the table in a video with the caption “our fancy schmancy mothers day brunch…” Those words were followed up by a few emojis, which depicted her excitement in the moment while celebrating Mother’s Day in a grand manner.

Watching Simone having such a good time with her family is truly heartwarming because recently she opened up about her mental health struggles.

Simone Biles revealed last month that she is still in therapy

Following the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Simone Biles made the difficult decision of stepping away from elite gymnastics once again to recover mentally and physically from the rigours of competition.

It was five years ago, at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she first felt the pressure of competing at the highest level and took a break to improve her mental health.

Last month, on the sidelines of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, Biles revealed that she is still in therapy after initially deciding to take action for her mental health at Tokyo 2020.

She had withdrawn her name from a few of the Olympic finals at the time after struggling with a mental block called the “twisties,” which affects the spatial awareness of gymnasts during their routines.

While speaking to Amanda Davies of CNN Sports in Madrid, she said,

“I feel like it showed the realness to me because everyone thought I was a robot, she’s not real, but it’s like, down to the core, I’m just like you guys. I’m real.”

“It got me the therapy that I deserved, and I’m still currently in therapy. I had a lot of help, and my core group was really helpful in letting me know that it’s OK, people go through this, and you’re just human,” Biles further added.

It is not clear as to whether Biles will ever return to elite gymnastics, but she hasn’t ruled out her comeback at all.
