Simone Biles has fans buzzing again. The gymnastics legend posted two training videos on her Snapchat account on May 28. And the internet is reading between the lines.
The clips are not new. They are actually from 2019. But that has not stopped fans from getting excited about what they could mean.
Why share old training videos now? That is the big question. It feels like a subtle hint, even if she has not said anything official.
Biles has been on an extended break since the 2024 Paris Olympics. She had a brilliant run there, winning three golds and a silver. After all that, she earned her time off.
So far, she has stayed coy about her future. When asked about the 2028 LA Olympics, she said she is still "50-50." She wants to make sure she is in a good place before committing.
Off the mat, she has been busy too. In March 2026, she opened her own restaurant. It is called "Simone Biles Taste of Gold" and is located at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
In her recent CNN Sports interview, she admitted time is running out. "I feel like we're still at a 50-50," she said. She also noted she is "on a time crunch here now."
Still, those throwback videos sparked something. Fans are hopeful. A return to competition would be one of the biggest stories in sports.
The 2028 Summer Olympics will be held from July 14 to 30 in Los Angeles. That gives Biles about two years to decide. For now, the door is still open.
What Biles Said About Her Mental Health
Biles also got real about her mental health during the CNN Sports interview. She talked about her Tokyo 2020 moment, when she withdrew from events after experiencing the "twisties." She called it a "pivotal moment" in her life.
"I feel like it showed the realness to me because everyone thought I was a robot, she's not real," she said. "But it's like, down to the core, I'm just like you guys. I'm real."
After Tokyo, she made her health a priority. "I got the therapy that I deserved," she shared. She also added that she is still in therapy today.
Her support system played a big role too. "I had a lot of help and my core group was really helpful in letting me know that it's OK," she said. They reminded her that going through tough times is just being human.
She also spoke about how gymnasts are often viewed. "Gymnasts aren't viewed as people who have weaknesses," she explained. Tokyo was the first time that side of the sport was shown on a global stage.
But her view on it has changed over time. "Now, I look at it as being courageous and not so much a weakness," she said. That mindset is what could carry her through whatever comes next.
She also said the physical side is not the worry. "I can get myself in shape," Biles noted. The mental side is the real work, and she is putting in the effort either way.
