Former Louisiana State University gymnast Olivia Dunne is often in the public eye after she retired from competitive gymnastics in April 2025. From advertisements to starring in an upcoming show, she has had to develop thick skin over the years. She credits a familiar face for this: Taylor Swift.
Dunne has noted that she takes a page out of global pop icon Taylor Swift’s book on dealing with public scrutiny. In an August 18, 2025, exclusive interview with People Magazine, Dunne noted that she and Swift had a unique parallel. The 23-year-old finds likeness in their struggles.
“It's crazy to even think that I have something in common with Taylor Swift. We're both dating professional athletes, and we both have passions of our own.”

Dunne has been dating Paul Skenes, pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates in MLB, since 2023, when they were both student-athletes at LSU. Swift, on the other hand, is engaged to Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
While both are publicly in relationships, Dunne and Swift have individually grown their personal brands to incredible heights of success. While Dunne is a social media sensation and a to-be actor, Swift has established a net worth of $2 billion, according to Forbes.
Dunne, speaking to People, discussed Swift’s appearance on the ‘New Heights’ podcast hosted by Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, on August 13, 2025. Swift spoke about the fans’ perception of her and remaining true to who she is. Dunne resonated with this sentiment.
"[Taylor] was talking about how NFL fans will react when they see her on the screen. And I kind of feel the same way.”
Scrutiny from the people is something Dunne will have to deal with, now that she has taken to the cameras wholeheartedly, to establish her own brand.

Dunne made a smooth transition in her career, from being on the mat to being on set. While Dunne has become a household name today as a social media sensation, she began by posting about her life as an LSU athlete.

According to a February 2025 ESPN report, Dunne was the fourth-highest-paid NIL athlete, coming in after CFB stars Arch Manning ($6.5 million), Carson Beck ($4.3 million), and college basketball star Cooper Flagg ($4.8 million), all of whom are now playing professionally.
The former gymnast is also ready to star in the upcoming FOX reboot of the iconic show, Baywatch. All of this has yielded her a net worth of $6 million in 2026, according to reports.
