Olympic legend Simone Biles has created countless memorable moments, both in and out of gymnastics. One such moment involved a person who had followed her journey closer than anyone else.
Following Biles' remarkable performance at the 2024 Paris Games, her younger sister Adria took to Instagram to celebrate the moment.
She posted a throwback photo of the two from their childhood sitting on the bench.
"The little girl in me would look for you in every single room she walks into,” Adria wrote.“You have made me into the person I am today, and I will forever look up to you. I love you, sister," she added.
It was one of the many gestures Adria dedicated to her sister. Back in 2016, she wrote an essay for ESPN, describing her sister's aura as “fearless” in gymnastics.
“Simone is as outgoing as she seems, and yes, she is always laughing. She's also kind and humble, and I'm so proud to have her as my sister. I look up to her in every way," Adria added.
The tribute was something no medal can ever replicate. From sharing time with her big sister to seeing her dominate the global stage, Adria has seen it all.
Notably, with the 2028 Olympics approaching, questions have emerged regarding her possible participation on home soil in Los Angeles.
Will Simone Biles Return for the 2028 Olympics?
Biles has been away from the global stage since Paris 2024. Each passing month, the same question resurfaces: will she show up in Los Angeles?
Biles herself does not have the answer yet. She has, however, remained candid about her status, keeping a door open for her return.
Speaking to Olympics.com, she discussed her chances being exactly at halfway.
"I'd say we're still at about 50 per cent," she said.
With 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship titles, Biles is one of the most decorated gymnasts in history. However, such an eventful career can take a toll.
“I've already been to three Olympic Games, and I feel fulfilled. It's crazy to see how people always want more and more from you. In the end, the decision will always be mine," she said.
At 29 and on her break, Biles is prioritizing her mental health, claiming that her coaches can help with the physical conditioning. She does, however, acknowledge the weight of her decision.
"It would be a huge sacrifice to try to be in Los Angeles at 31. We'll have to see," she added.
With a decorated 15-year career, Biles has achieved almost everything in gymnastics and hasn't trained since the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The American remains non-committal and is focusing on other vocations, namely pilates and yoga. It remains to be seen whether a shot at further Olympic glory at home will tempt Biles to return to the mat.
What do you think? Does Biles' potential comeback seem feasible? Let us know in the comments.
